Mouthwatering Monday

I don’t have a recipe for y’all today :-)

I spent the past week being spoiled rotten on the Carnival Conquest so I did absolutely, positively NO cooking.

So, I thought I’d share with y’all a picture of hands down one of the most sinfully tonguegasmically delicious items that I encountered on the ship, instead.

The Melting Chocolate Cake

Melting Chocolate Cake

That dark chocolate baby right there made me moan when I took a bite.  Nathan was a bit taken with it too, not that we ordered it every night or anything.  Rich, warm, sponge like decadent chocolate cake covering a hot, melting, dark, sultry, sensuous, rich chocolate pudding so that when you dip your spoon into it and put it in your mouth … I’m drooling right now just thinking about this.  Paired with cold, creamy vanilla ice cream.  Seriously, this dessert has no equal on land.

However, if you want a recipe… check out a couple of recipes featured this past week for Saving 2nd Base

You can see more of our pics from our Cruise on my Flickr Page

I can’t wait to see what y’all have been cookin’ up!
Y’all know the play nice rules… link back… visit the others… leave a comment here and on some others’ recipe posts… share the love!

*carnival sent my family on this cruise and I can’t thank them enough for starting a new obsession and hopefully, family tradition

Table 578

our table

It’s hard to believe that tonight was our last night dining at Table 578.

We’re heading home.. we’ve left the turquoise waters of the Caribbean and have headed back in to the darker oil rig studded waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

I can’t believe that tomorrow night I won’t be served dinner by the delightful team of the smiling Renato and the charming (and young) Ryan.

After tomorrow… I have to cook again.

I should say get to cook again because truly, I love it.  It’s one of my joys in life, however…

Table 578 has been a haven.

Delicious food appears and re-appears, suggestions are made, new delicacies tried and gorgeous crystal glasses are filled with sultry merlots that slide over our tongues and delight our tastebuds.

Tomorrow, it’s back to reality and my own kitchen table.

For tonight, I’ll curl up under these heavy white covers in a room with my family and let the gentle rocking and shushing of the ocean lull me to sleep.
