At the beginning of November, I wrote a post about my Father in Law, Danny, and how he was having the first of two procedures to treat his lung cancer.
On Tuesday, we found out that he was going in, this morning, Thursday, to have the surgery to remove the upper lobe of his right lung in an effort to eradicate the cancer.
After a 3 1/2 hour surgery, my husband called me.
“Dad’s out and he’s doing well”
RELIEF
The Doctor told them that due to the size of the tumor (larger than they thought) the placement and the placement of his lungs — the surgery took longer than they thought and they ended up removing the entire upper and middle lobes of his right lung.
(I am not a doctor and I don’t pretend to play one on the internet– so, we’ll leave it at that)
The doctor said they are keeping him sedated in the S-ICU today and will pull him out of sedation tomorrow.
He will stay in the SICU for a few days and in the hospital for the remainder of a week or so, since he is immuno compromised from the surgery and the previous chemotheraphy.

My dad is having a biopsy of his liver today. They found what they think might be a tumor. Damn cancer.
