1 Tequila, 2 Tequila, 3 Tequila… Floor

The title has nothing to do with the post, other than there’s tequila involved in making margaritas and every time I see tequila I think back to our Senior Class trip to Cancun and the t-shirt that one of the guys wore that said – “1 Tequila, 2 Tequila, 3 Tequila.. Floor”

Welcome to my brain :-)

For some reason Nathan and I are on a margarita kick, whenever we go out to eat we order a Margarita – it’s weird, but delicious.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Margaritas are like those choose your own adventure books from when we were kids,  each time you get one – it’s a different *story* – with every ingredient you add or delete, it’s a different drink.

I’ve been playing around with different ingredients to create a delicious, simple, lighter margarita recipe base – and I think I’ve found it.  Simple, delicious, 5 fresh ingredients.

I’m not ready to share the recipe yet, I need to make it one more time (and photograph it, of course), but I want to know.

    I am a margarita lover for sure! I like traditional margaritas, usually on the rocks – but I do happen to own not one but 2 professional margarita machines (like the type bars/ restaurants use!) for parties! We’ve discovered that just a touch of triple sec does the trick in making our margaritas extra special! You should see my blog- not that it has margarita recipes, but my blog decor has a margarita “theme”! (www.CreateEnjoyShare.blogspot.com).

    It’s easier to say what I don’t like…I don’t like margs that taste like powdered mixes. I don’t like them if they taste like wedding punch (lime sherbet). And I don’t like a flavor other than traditional lime. So far I’ve never been good at making them as it seems too many variables make for good and not so good. But I know a good one when I taste it.

    I love a really good frozen margarita. No sugar on the rim, please! Salt only and plenty of it. I love the traditional lime. No powdery mixes. The only exception I make to the traditional lime margarita is in the summer, then I love the watermelon margaritas! We are blessed here in the Shreveport area to have no shortage of places to go for fresh, incredible margaritas!

    MMmm. I do enjoy a nice margarita. Especially, when it’s over a hundred degrees in Texas. I really like mine with Orange Patron instead of Triple Sec or Cointreau. The Patron Citronge Orange Liqueur tastes as good as Cointreau, but without the hefty price tag. Plus it smells amazing.
