For the next 5 months – Okay, well really it’s this month and the next 4 – I’m going to be sharing one recipe per month featuring these rockstar, southern pantry staples.
VELVEETA® and Ro*Tel®
For this first family recipe, I was given the opportunity to try the Spicy Cheeseburger Pizza.
I’ll be honest with y’all, (after all, we have nothing if we don’t have honesty)I’m not a big cheeseburger person and I’m not typically a fan of “fancy pizzas” so this recipe sounded a bit strange to me, but I’m game for a challenge so I went to the store and bought a pizza crust and shredded lettuce (the only two things not already in my house)
Here’s the deal, VELVEETA® and Ro*Tel® in the form of their Famous Queso have been a part of my life since before I could actually see over the counter without the assistance of a step stool. I can remember making that famous queso when we moved to Nevada and I swear that we changed lives with it.
Anyways — on to the recipe.
I was given the Spicy Cheeseburger Pizza recipe to try.
This incorporates VELVEETA®, Ro*Tel®, ketchup (I know. Seriously, stick with me), shredded lettuce, hamburger and pizza crust. Easy Peasy, no?
So, I gathered my ingredients (except we substituted ground Turkey for Ground Hamburger) and got started.
I browned my ground turkey and then cubed my VELVEETA®
I topped my pizza crust with the ketchup and Ro*Tel® and then topped that with the VELVEETA® and turkey mixture.
I popped this into my 400 F oven and baked it for 10 minutes.
After I took it out of the oven, I topped it with shredded lettuce, cut it into slices and served it.
VELVEETA® and RO*TEL® are hosting an amazing sweepstakes to encourage simple, easy weeknight family meals and entertainment ideas. Winners will be picked each week, and the more points you collect the more chances you have of winning! Grand prize winner will receive $15,000!
