Homemade Blueberry Crisp aka Blueberry Dump Cake

Delicious and Easy Blueberry Crisp also known as a Blueberry Dump Cake is a long standing Southern dessert tradition. This dessert is easy because you literally dump ingredients into a dish and bake it. It's perfect for potlucks, church gatherings, holidays etc...

  • 2 cans 21 ounces each blueberry pie filling
  • 1 box 15.25 ounces white or butter cake mix
  • 1/2 Cup 1 stick butter, cold


  • Preheat oven to 350* F
  • In a large skillet (cast iron preferably) or a greased 9X13 baking dish, add the blueberry pie filling and spread it all over the baking dish. Sprinkle the cake mix over the top of the pie filling.
  • Slice the butter into thin pats (roughly 16 or so) you want to be able to space them out evenly over the top of the mixture.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until the topping is a nice bubbling golden brown

  • OPTIONAL: Top with 2 Cups chopped walnuts or pecan prior to baking
