Homemade Blueberry Crisp aka Blueberry Dump Cake
Delicious and Easy Blueberry Crisp also known as a Blueberry Dump Cake is a long standing Southern dessert tradition. This dessert is easy because you literally dump ingredients into a dish and bake it. It's perfect for potlucks, church gatherings, holidays etc...
- 2 cans 21 ounces each blueberry pie filling
- 1 box 15.25 ounces white or butter cake mix
- 1/2 Cup 1 stick butter, cold
Preheat oven to 350* F
In a large skillet (cast iron preferably) or a greased 9X13 baking dish, add the blueberry pie filling and spread it all over the baking dish. Sprinkle the cake mix over the top of the pie filling.
Slice the butter into thin pats (roughly 16 or so) you want to be able to space them out evenly over the top of the mixture.
Bake for 1 hour or until the topping is a nice bubbling golden brown
OPTIONAL: Top with 2 Cups chopped walnuts or pecan prior to baking
