She was raised in the United States with her sister Monica, who used to pole vault for the Bears’ track and field team at Brown University.
Nicole Pechanec followed in her mother’s footsteps from a young age. She represented the Czech Republic in multiple international competitions before she turned 20, including three World Championships and two European Championships.
