Tips for Planning Your Perfect Weekend in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has been known as “The Entertainment Capital of the World,” with its endless energy, beautiful lights, and unlimited entertainment. Whether you are a first-time traveller or a veteran, having the best weekend in Las Vegas requires you to plan carefully where to stay, what to do, and how to use everything this destination offers.

It’s a city that provides everything, even your favourite games that can be found at the Spin City casino and much more. This piece will enable you to take full advantage of this rampant and exciting destination by allowing you to plan the perfect weekend.

Choosing the Right Time to Visit

While this destination offers something unique all year round, it is important to consider the season when you go to determine what kind of weekend you will have. The weather, attendance, and entertainment will vary depending on the time of year. This is a summary:

  • Peak Season (Spring & Fall);
  • Summer (June to August);
  • Winter (December to February).

Peak Season (Spring & Fall)

The best months to visit are March to May and September to November. The temperatures are in the  60s to 80s°F (15-27°C) during the day and are pretty warm. It’s the perfect time to take in the city’s spectacular resorts, have pool parties, and go out in nature.

It’s so buzzy because that’s when many big things occur, including conventions and music festivals. Hotels will be pricier and tourist attractions more crowded, but everyone comes through during these months.

Summer (June to August)

The temperatures can exceed 100°F (38°C) during the summer months. But it’s also the time of year when the city’s air-conditioned casinos, waterparks, and pools are at their best.

Since July is considered off-peak for large conventions and events, hotels are less expensive for people willing to endure the heat. The months of September through October are a fantastic (if sweltering) time to visit, as many hotels will offer pool parties, day clubs, and celebrity visits.

Winter (December to February)

If you prefer the warm weather and fewer visitors, winter is the season for you. Daytime temperatures from 50°F to 60°F (10-16°C) make it ideal for touring outdoors without the summer heat, even if it is still sunny. In a city all decorated for the holidays and filled with seasonal festivities, even winter lends a festive atmosphere.

The town is famous for the busy holiday events that you may attend if you visit during Christmas or New Year’s Eve. The only thing you need to note is that many of the indoor rides are just as thrilling, but outdoor pools will not be quite as great.

Set a Budget and Stick to It

Although this city can quickly become an expensive vacation destination, you don’t have to lose your savings if you get in early enough. How to make and adhere to a budget:

Accommodation

Hotels in this destination can be found at five-star resorts or more modest budget hotels. If you’re on a budget, there are decent rooms available at The Linq or The Flamingo. But resorts like Caesars Palace, Bellagio, or The Venetian offer luxury and snobbish amenities if you want a bit pricier.

It’s best to reserve your rooms well in advance as prices increase during the busiest times of the year. Be aware that resort charges can show up on your bill.

Dining

From buffets to Michelin-starred restaurants, this city is a culinary playground. But healthy eating doesn’t have to cost the earth. Good meals for a decent price are available at stores such as Shake Shack and In-N-Out Burger.

But if you want something special, consider eating at top-notch restaurants owned by celebrity chefs such as Jol Robuchon or Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen. Plan your meals and reserve in advance to secure a seat at expensive restaurants.

Entertainment and Activities

From free attractions such as the Bellagio Fountains to high-priced experiences such as Cirque du Soleil performances, there’s something for everyone. Remember to put money aside for parties, bars, and concerts.

Look online, as most shows offer advance tickets for a discounted price. Be sure to factor in cover charges or bottle service if you plan to hang out in high-end bars or clubs.

Explore Unique Attractions

Although it is most famous for its casinos, much else in the city is worth observing. The most popular free show is the Bellagio Fountains, which will turn heads every fifteen to thirty minutes. A well-orchestrated spectacle, the jets of water erupt as the music varies across genres.

The 550-foot High Roller is the world’s highest observation wheel. It offers spectacular vistas of the Las Vegas Strip and beyond. If you like the city from up above, it’s perfect – particularly at sunset or when the Strip is lit up at night.

To take it a step further, visit the Neon Museum. It contains many recognizable neon signs from casinos and other historic buildings that once flourished, providing a fascinating glimpse into the city’s past.

Putting the Finishing Touches on Your Las Vegas Getaway

You can spend a weekend in this city doing anything from a wild night on the town to an unwinding spa retreat and everything in between. If you want to maximize your time in the world’s entertainment capital and create the perfect itinerary around your preferences, both are doable with planning. Whether it’s great food, watching a show, or visiting the unique sites, Las Vegas will leave you breathless.
