But you don’t have sprinkles, mom.

I love my child and her vivid imagination and wonderful mispronunciations!
She’s been dealing with the aging of my Granny and the inevitability of death.

While visiting she asked my Granny what all the saggy lines on her face were. Granny replied, “Wrinkles… I’m old honey, that’s what happens when you get old.”
So last night I was sitting on the couch reading to Princess and she asked me why I kept yawning, I told her it was because I was old and tired. (Couldn’t have anything to do with the 10 month old who is now walking or Princess – 3 1/2 and the epitome of perpetual motion…)
She looks at me in all seriousness and with concern and confusion on her freckled little face and says….
“But mom, you don’t have any sprinkles on your face…”
I laughed so hard I woke up the baby.
Thank God for the miracle that is her.
